DISCOUNTS & COMPS

Not only can our GiftTran™ technology provide merchants with an effective marketing and management tool, but it can also help with internal operations as well.  One application it is used for is to keep track of employee discounts and comps (e.g. free meals given to employees of a restaurant).  Managers and owners of restaurants, in particular, complain about having to keep track of the free meals they provide to their key employees.  Often this employee "benefit" or privilege is abused and can cost the business thousands of dollars annually.  Using a paper based system, it can be just another tedious chore for management to try to keep track of how much employees have eaten weekly or monthly.  Management gets busy and sometimes it just falls through the cracks. With the GiftTran™ system, there’s almost nothing to do!  Management just gives the employees a new or recharged magstripe card with the appropriate dollar amount encoded on it at the beginning of the month.  Amounts are decremented off the card with every use via the point-of-sale system… just like your customers.  Because of the security measures built into the system, employees will not be able to add value to their cards when they are depleted.  Management can even print out reports to see what the activity level is for all or certain employees.  The system can also be used to easily keep track of discounts given to employees or purchases they’ve made.

Another productive use of the system is for conducting and managing employee sales incentive programs.  It allows management to easily monitor card sales by employee so you know who’s selling and who’s not.  Management can increase sales by offering commissions, bonuses or other incentives to employees who reach their goals.
